When it comes to the World Cup, tradition means everything.

The blue and white stripes of Argentina.

The Brazilian teams in their iconic yellow.

Croatia with their checkerboard layout.

After this tournament, the United States Men's National Team should follow suit and stop trying to reinvent the wheel every four years.

We've gone from denim rock stars to Rocket Pops to pageant queens to every combination of red, white and blue possible, but in what is already a historic World Cup for the team, the white uniforms with red stripes are sweeping the nation.

I went to the opening game in Los Angeles against Paraguay and 90% of the venue was wearing one. If you try to find to buy one right now online, it's nearly impossible. Even countries who are actively rooting against the USMNT have given them props for how good they look like in their home uniforms.

I'm not saying that you have to force things and keep the same exact design every tournament, but that should be the foundation that future World Cup uniforms are built around.

The home design should feature a white shirt with red stripes incorporated in some nature, and for away, you can go for a darker design that is centered around stars.

"The Stars and Stripes" has always been the unofficial official nickname given to the USMNT, so why not embrace it? Fans (and even haters) think they look good. It's not like Argentina or Brazil have trouble selling new jerseys every World Cup even if they're extremely similar to every other version of the uniform.

In four years when the USMNT open up in Spain, Morocco, Portugal or one of the South American nations hosting the World Cup, we shouldn't be shocked by how the uniforms look.

Let the stripes flow and the stars fly.
