Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data FIFA World Cup Match (the "Service") collects, why, and what we do with it.
1. Data we collect
If you create an account we store:
- The display name you choose;
- Your email address (for sign-in and password resets);
- A hashed password (never the plaintext);
- Optionally an email-verification timestamp.
If you post in match chat we store:
- The text of your message and the match it was posted in;
- A timestamp;
- The link between your account and that message (so moderators can act).
We do not collect:
- Your real name, address, phone number, or date of birth;
- Payment information (the Service is free);
- Tracking identifiers from advertising networks;
- Cross-site behavioural data.
2. Data we generate
When you visit the Service our web server records standard request logs (IP address, user-agent, requested URL, timestamp). Logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and used for debugging, abuse investigation, and aggregated traffic stats.
3. Cookies
We use a single first-party session cookie (named per Laravel defaults) so that you can stay signed in across pages and so that forms have valid CSRF protection. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.
See the Cookie Policy for the full list.
4. How we use your data
- To authenticate you and keep you signed in;
- To attribute chat messages to a username on the public match page;
- To send password-reset emails when you request one;
- To investigate abuse and enforce the Terms of Service.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Our hosting provider, who runs the infrastructure on our behalf;
- Law enforcement when we are legally required to do so.
6. Your rights
You may at any time:
- Access the data we hold about you (visible on your profile page);
- Update your name or email from the profile page;
- Delete your account from the profile page — this removes your account and unlinks your chat messages.
7. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified on the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current revision.
9. Contact
Privacy questions can be sent to the contact address published in the site footer.
