The U.S. Men's National Team has started off the 2026 FIFA World Cup with two dominating victories. Some commentators (and players) think the team has what it takes to go all the way.

But first things first: the US has one more group stage game (June 25, 7 p.m. PT) and will then play a Round of 32 match (July 1, 5 p.m. PT) after winning Group D. Two successive wins at the tournament -- including Friday's 2-0 victory over Australia in front of a sold out Seattle Stadium -- marks the first time the USMNT has won two straight World Cup games since 1930.

And the USMNT could return to Seattle if the team continues its winning ways. Here's what you need to know about a possible USMNT return to Seattle Stadium.

When are the upcoming USMNT games at the 2026 FIFA World Cup?

  • June 25: group stage match, USMNT vs. Turkey (7 p.m. PT)
  • July 1: Round of 32 match, opponents TBD (5 p.m. PT)

How did the US team win their group?

After beating Australia 2-0 on June 19 (without star striker Christian Pulisic), the US team secured their place atop Group D after Paraguay beat Turkiye later in the day. The US had six points through their first two group stage matches and a plus-5 goal differential. The team needed Paraguay to defeat or draw against Turkiye on Friday night, which they did with a 1-0 victory.

Turkiye lost their first match against Australia, and Paraguay lost against the US team in a 4-1 rout to open the tournament. The US's six points, goal differential and victories over Paraguay and Australia's make it impossible for any team to overtake the Stars and Stripes.

Here's what the group looks like after two group stage matches:

GROUP D

  • United States 2-0-0 (+5) – 6 points
  • Australia 1-0-1 (0) – 3 points
  • Paraguay 1-0-1 (-2) – 3 points
  • Turkey 0-0-2 (-3) – 0 points

Who could the USMNT play in the Round of 32?

We don't know yet who the USMNT will face in their first knockout game on July 1. We do know that the Round of 32 match will be against a third place team from another group. The bracket could pit the USMNT against a third place winner from one of these groups:

  • Group B: Canada, Switzerland, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Qatar
  • Group E: Germany, Ivory Coast, Ecuador, Curacao
  • Group F: Sweden, Japan, Netherlands, Tunisia
  • Group I: Norway, France, Senegal, Iraq
  • Group J: Argentina, Austria, Jordan, Algeria

Will the USMNT play in Seattle again?

If the USMNT win's their first knockout round game on July 1, their next match would be at Seattle Stadium for the Round of 16. That game would be played on July 6 at 5 p.m. PT. We'll have to wait for the knockout rounds to begin before we know if the Stars and Stripes will return to Seattle.
