AT&T Stadium cost $1.2 billion to build, but its east-west orientation allows low sun angles to stream through massive end-zone glass panels during fall afternoon games. Players, coaches and fans have hated it for years.
Things finally boiled over in November 2024 when CeeDee Lamb completely lost a pass in the end zone against the Philadelphia Eagles because of the glare. After the game, Lamb admitted he couldn't see the ball at all and said he would "one thousand percent" support putting up curtains.
Jerry Jones shut that idea down instantly. Since the 83-year-old owner refuses to fix it, Lamb found his own fix heading into the 2026 season.
CeeDee Lamb takes matters into his own hands
During Cowboys training camp, Lamb turned heads by catching passes with a mesh net pulled over his helmet and facemask during Jugs machine drills.
The net restricts his vision, forcing his eyes to work harder to track the ball through limited sightlines. This is a first for the NFL community, as nobody in the league has tried it quite like this before.
Dallas beat reporter Patrik Walker spotted it first, posting the clip on X with the caption, "oh … that's new." The video exploded online, racking up 4 million views in less than 24 hours.

And as expected, shocked fans didn't waste time reacting, with one asking, "What does this drill possibly do?"
Another added, "Didn't Jason Witten do weird stuff like this with a ball bag or am I totally making that up?"
A third viewer noted, "Gotta be trying to replicate that freaking solar flare effect in the stadium Jerry is so proud of."
The fourth fan penned, "Just trying to get ready for the sun glare!"
A fifth one joked, "Someone want to tell him the pandemic is over?"
A sixth remarked, "Jerry World prep" -- alongside a photo of the infamous AT&T Stadium sun beam blasting straight through the end zone.
The irony? He is actually a better player at home than away. In 47 career home games, Lamb has logged 278 receptions for 3,898 yards and 24 touchdowns.
On the road, his yardage drops to 3,514 yards and only 17 touchdowns, even though his reception total increased to 292. Still, he can't afford a stadium glare problem while playing on his own home ground.
What might finally move the needle on the stadium's sun problem is the recently concluded FIFA World Cup. Just to recap, AT&T Stadium hosted nine matches this summer and FIFA literally brought in temporary setups to completely block out that strong afternoon sun.
Jones took notice of the alternative solutions. In a training camp interview with FOX 4, he admitted, "I'm thinking about it. As we look at it, I like some of the effects of the tinting, so we're giving that a thought."
He made sure to note the difference between considering a change and actually making one, so fans shouldn't expect new windows just yet.
