Sporting investments have seen the Kushner and Trump family linked heavily this summer.
Joshua Kushner was part of the private investor group which recently tried to buy a stake in the FIFA World Cup, a plan that was quickly quashed after much backlash.
But Kushner, the brother of Jared Kushner, who is married to Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, is now making waves in the NBA world thanks to his involvement in the Los Angeles Lakers takeover.
Joshua and Bob Iger are taking over the Lakers, and in turn, the US President’s history with the Lakers and those involved in the purchase has become a talking point.
Previously, Trump hit out at new LA Lakers owner Iger for spreading ‘fake news’, while the President has also previously had some choice words for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Abdul-Jabbar had a prolific playing career with the Lakers between 1975 and 1989.
Many years later, he returned to the Lakers as a special assistant coach for six seasons between 2005 and 2011.
The former NBA star then became a U.S. global cultural ambassador in 2012 before speaking out against Trump in 2015.
As per The Wrap, Abdul-Jabbar ‘called out Trump for going after Fox News’ Megyn Kelly’.
In response, the current President sent a handwritten message to the ex-Lakers man, which read: “Kareem, now I know why the press always treated you so badly, they couldn’t stand you.
“The fact is that you don’t have a clue about life and what has to be done to make America great again!”
