Fans are stunned after a viral video of one of Kylian Mbappe's first interactions with Victor Wembanyama has re-surfaced amid the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Mbappe and France are off to their third straight World Cup semifinal after eliminating Morocco 2-0 on Thursday.

This sets up a monumental clash with Spain on Tuesday at 3:00pm in Dallas.

In the buildup to that match, video re-surfaced of the time Mbappe met another Frenchman who plays in Texas, the 7-foot-4 Spurs star Wembanyama.

The video, shot at the 2023 NBA Draft lottery, shows the pair interacting backstage after Mbappe posed for a photo with a child. The two briefly spoke before leaving the room.

Social media picked up and ran with the clip after ESPN pundit and former USMNT striker Herculez Gomez posted in awe at the height difference between the two.

Mbappe has been a star for France at this tournament, scoring a World Cup-leading eight goals

He'll look to do better in Texas than Wembanyama, who lost the NBA Finals to the Knicks

'Holly [sic] [poop emoji] I'm in awe at the size difference between Mbappe and Victor Wembanyama,' Gomez posted to his account.

Replies to Gomez's tweet were filled with similar reactions and memes.

'S*** look cartoonish how 7 footers make 6'2 or taller people look so small,' one reply read.

Another said, 'this is actually shocking to see.'

'The way Kylian has to look up is so funny,' said another user.

One fan joked, 'Mbappe being an incredible futbol player at 3'2" is remarkable.'

Mbappe has been a star for France at this World Cup, now sitting tied with Lionel Messi in the lead for the tournament's Golden Boot with eight goals.

He will hope that his exploits in Texas fare better than his countryman after Wembanyama and the Spurs lost the NBA Finals in five games to the New York Knicks.
