Ferran Torres raised eyebrows during Spain’s World Cup championship parade when he shared a POV video celebrating with thousands of La Roja fans while wearing a red “Make Spain Great Again” cap.

The cap is an adaptation of Donald Trump’s famous “Make America Great Again” slogan, which drew mixed reactions, as fans on social media debated whether Torres was paying homage to the United States president or if he was mocking him.

“He’s mocking MAGA and I LOVE IT! 🤣” a fan said on X.

“I think he’s just having fun congrats to him and Spain ⭐️⭐️” another X user mused.

“It’s a souvenir from America! Not that serious or deep, people!! Calm down!” chimed in another fan.

“He is mocking Trump and his MAGA idiots. You are too dumb to catch that. Remember what Trump said? “Spain is a wasted cause’: Donald Trump called Spain ‘hopeless’ and ‘bad people’ just days before World Cup final,” said another fan.

Torres will forever be a legend in Spain for his 106th-minute goal that delivered La Roja their second World Cup. The 26-year-old forward will surely soak in the celebrations before they all head back to their respective clubs to begin their seasons in the coming weeks.

Ferran Torres reflects on Spain’s World Cup triumph

Ferran Torres said that their World Cup triumph over former champions Argentina was destiny for the whole country of Spain.

“I think in the end the goal came from 47 million people (approximately the population of Spain), not just those of us that are here,” Torres said. “Today destiny was written; it was made for us to win. We’re far from our people today, but we tried to be as close as possible to them.”

“Finals are hard. When you have (Lionel) Messi on the opposing team, you do get worried, but we always backed ourselves and tried to show our football, and I think we managed to do it once again,” he continued. “A huge relief (to score),” he said. “I’ve been criticized throughout the whole tournament, but as I said before, destiny was written.”
