Reports in Italy claim that both Inter and Roma are interested in Lyon winger Malick Fofana, but the situation depends heavily on the future of Luis Henrique in San Siro and the success of a deal between the Giallorossi and Porto for Rodrigo Mora.
Could Inter or Roma turn to Lyon’s Fofana?
This situation focuses on Inter’s right wing-back position. Regular starter Denzel Dumfries has been sold to Real Madrid and the Nerazzurri have recently reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to sign England international Djed Spence as his replacement.
However, there have also been reports that Inter could look to sell right winger Luis Henrique before the close of the summer transfer window, potentially to Roma. The issue on that front is that the Brazilian has not yet opened up to the idea of moving to the Stadio Olimpico.
If Inter are to sell Henrique this summer, there is a possibility that the club looks to bring in another more attacking option to work alongside the defensively-minded Spence on the Nerazzurri right flank. Reports from Calciomercato.com claim that Lyon’s Fofana is the profile wanted by sporting director Piero Ausilio, if not Moussa Diaby from Al-Ittihad.
Fofana is also of interest to Roma, especially if they are unable to get an increasingly complicated deal for 19-year-old Rodrigo Mora over the line.
As things stand, though, Lyon are reportedly unwilling to let go of Fofana until the end of the team’s Champions League play-off tie against Fenerbahce, which will not conclude until the evening of August 26 in the final week of the summer transfer window.
