FIFA boss Gianni Infantino is now on the hot seat following his recent proposal to sell a small portion of the World Cup to private investors.
Infantino has proposed creating a $20 billion company that’ll run the World Cup with private investors, including US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Infantino’s proposal is so bad that former FIFA president Joseph S Blatter, notorious for corruption allegations, has emerged as one of the voices of reason.
“The close relationship between the FIFA President and the US President has reached a financial dimension that is deeply damaging football. No one has the right to sell our game,” Blatter said on X.
Blatter directly called out Infantino’s improving relationship with Trump during the 2026 FIFA World Cup held in the US, Mexico, and Canada.
The former FIFA boss isn’t the only person against it; UEFA has refused to back the insane proposal, with other governing bodies expected to speak up against the proposed plan soon.
Infantino and Trump’s relationship is now under the microscope as it could lead to the replacement of the FIFA boss sooner rather than later.
