Harry Kane has revealed that David Beckham was the first person to reach out and congratulate him on a landmark moment in England history. Three Lions captain Kane matched Beckham's record of 115 caps with his appearance against Croatia, drawing level in third place on the all-time list behind Peter Shilton and Wayne Rooney.
Kane also drew level with Gary Lineker's record of 10 FIFA World Cup goals, and the Bayern Munich star now has the opportunity to surpass both milestones during this tournament.
The England frontman admitted it was "mind-blowing" to have gone from idolizing Beckham to now receiving personal messages from the Three Lions icon, according to The Mirror.
Kane told the FA's Lions' Den show: "I am extremely proud to be in amongst those names. David Beckham was my idol growing up, he was any hero, was from the same area, Chingford, went to the same school so he was just my idol.
"Now to have the same number of caps as him is pretty mind-blowing to be honest and I don't take a lot of this stuff in, I just get on to the next thing and it's something, for sure, that I will take in when I stop and look back on.
"David sent me a nice voice note yesterday before the game and then after the game, congratulating me on getting to 115 and he said he knows how hard it is be that consistent and get that many caps so it was really nice of him and he was wishing all the boys the best as well.
"Whenever I've met or spoke to him, he's been so good. You can tell that he's such a fan of the team, he wants us to do really well and so every interaction I've had with him has been amazing.

"It is a bit of a full circle moment because he's watching us as a fan and I'm sure we'll be the same in 20 years or so. What a great role model for all of us.
"Then with the goals, matching Gary, everyone knows how good a striker he was especially in World Cups, so to get to the ten goals is obviously really pleasing and again the next game is just a few days away and I'm feeling good, feeling ready so I just can't wait to get going again."
