England captain Harry Kane has revealed he has envisioned himself hoisting the FIFA World Cup trophy this summer. The star striker says his desire to deliver the ultimate prize burns stronger than ever, with the dream of glory remaining front and center in his mind.
Kane, speaking to L'Equipe, revealed that, like many elite athletes, he employs visualization techniques — and lifting the World Cup stands as his greatest aspiration. The Bayern Munich talisman said, via The Mirror: "I tend to use visualization more to prepare for specific matches.
"I try to picture the stadium I'll be playing in, the type of opponent I'll be facing, my position on the pitch, and the kinds of chances I might create for myself. That said, I'd be lying if I said I've never imagined myself lifting the World Cup.
"The ambition is to win it, obviously. That has to be our goal. We know it won't be easy, but in recent years, we've come very close to winning a major tournament: we reached two Euro finals (in 2021 and 2024), a World Cup semi-final (in 2018), and a quarter-final (in 2022)."
"This year, we have a new head coach and some new players; it's an exciting time, even though this kind of competition inevitably brings a lot of pressure.
"The key is to create a sort of 'bubble' during the tournament to distance ourselves from what I call the 'outside noise'. There will always be pundits, newspapers, podcasts... If you listen to and read all of that, you'll drive yourself crazy.
"So, you have to be clear about the team's objectives and the means to achieve them; you have to train well and foster a protective environment within the training camp - one that won't shatter at the first setback."

Kane heaped praise on England head coach Thomas Tuchel, highlighting the rapport forged during their time together at Bayern Munich, and their mutual understanding as he maintained that England are equipped to handle the weight of expectation.
He added: "At Bayern, I absolutely loved his personality, his ideas for the team, and the way he utilized me on the pitch. In a way, he has successfully translated those methods to the national team."
