With the 2026 FIFA World Cup taking place in locations across the United States, Mexico and Canada, the response from many fans who arrived to support their countries has become a popular talking point. However, if you don't believe how enjoyable the experience has been for first-time visitors to the United States, Mexico, and Canada, there's also no shortage of viral videos on social media to highlight that. From Norway fans doing their Viking Row in Times Square, Scotland fans simply refusing to leave Boston after their team's elimination and much more, it seems the trip is a success for fans, even if their teams haven't advanced from the group stage.

Even more than that, the actual in-stadium experience and the fandom on display have been second-to-none for all countries involved. Among those to take notice is Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham, who spoke about that during a recent episode of her Show Me Something podcast.

The World Cup's return to the United States has been so well received that Cunningham made the case for the tournament to remain here every four years, and given the USMNT's avid following, fans will certainly back that.

Sophie Cunningham wants more World Cup action in the United States

Cunningham spoke not only about the viral videos that have made waves on social media, but also about how enjoyable it's been to see people from foreign countries enjoying being here, as Sporting News highlighted.

"I feel like we should host the World Cup every four years," Cunningham said.

"I have seen so much on my social media of everyone around the world actually celebrating," Cunningham continued. "I know that America is not perfect, but I have absolutely loved people from foreign countries coming here and saying how great our country is."

She also pointed to exactly what's made those moments captured on video between fans of various countries so special: the fact that it's allowed so many people from different parts of the world to bond in many different ways.

"Yeah, this has been so fun. It's been cool. It's been cool to see our country come together. Kind of the world comes together in a way," Cunningham added.

Cunningham won't face any pushback from fans supporting the U.S. Men's National Team on the hope that the United States will host the World Cup every four years. Unfortunately, any confederation (CONCACAF for the United States) that has hosted either of the previous two World Cups is ineligible to bid. There is some good news, though, as there are already rumblings that the tournament could return in 2038, so stay tuned.
