A World Cup is the one thing missing from Cristiano Ronaldo's trophy cabinet.

The 41-year-old Portuguese superstar became the first player to score in six World Cups, going all the way back to his debut appearance in the 2006 tournament. He scored two goals in Portugal's group stage win over Uzbekistan here in 2026. He then added another via a penalty in the round of 32 to give him 11 at the FIFA World Cup in his career.

"People talk about age, but age is just a number. What matters is what they do and the example they set in the locker room," Portugal manager Roberto Martinez said of Ronaldo before the team's round of 32 game against Croatia.

Ronaldo scored one goal in each of his first three World Cups (2006, 2010 and 2014) and then broke out with a famous hat trick against Spain in the 2018 tournament. He would score once more in the 2018 group stage and then one in 2022.
