Bolivia and Scotland will face off for the first time in their history as the Tartan Army aims to conclude the run-up to the FIFA World Cup 2026 on a positive note. Stever Clarke’s side are coming off the back of a 4-1 hammering of Curacao last Saturday and face La Verde one week on, hoping to mimic that result.

Unlike Saturday’s opponents, Bolivia will not form part of the World Cup procession in North America this summer after falling at the last hurdle in qualifying. Oscar Villegas’ side placed seventh in the CONMEBOL standings and made it as far as the final of the inter-confederation playoffs, where they slipped up against Iraq.
Having not long ago been the whipping boys of South American soccer, Bolivia has made strides under Villegas, who has assembled a very youthful squad for this international window. And Scotland will look to exploit that inexperience as it targets back-to-back wins for the first time since October.
Player management will be key at this late stage of the World Cup preparation period as Clarke looks to keep his biggest assets fit for their opener against Haiti on June 13. That being said, expect to see the likes of Scott McTominay, John McGinn, and Andy Robertson in some capacity as the Scots seek a strong final warm-up result.
