Jesse Marsch’s men will play their first fixture of the World Cup not on home soil after staging each of their three Group B games across Toronto and Vancouver. South Africa, meanwhile, is happy just to have made the last 32 as a surprise runner-up in Group A. A nightmare loss to Mexico in its opener was followed by a dramatic comeback draw against the Czech Republic, but it was a shock 1-0 win over South Korea last time out that sealed second place in the pool.

Canada captain Alphonso Davies is expected to finally make his World Cup bow against South Africa after injury kept him out of the entire group stage. Meanwhile, Themba Zwane will remain suspended after his red card appeal was rejected, but Teboho Mokoena will be available again following his ban.
