Los Angeles FC will make the short trip to face the LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park on Friday as the 2026 Major League Soccer campaign resumes. Just four points separate the two West Coast nemesis in the Western Conference standings as they prepare for their first competitive matchup in almost two months.

The MLS season was put on hold to give FIFA World Cup 2026 the spotlight it deserves over the past month, but the tournament is due to wrap up this weekend. And MLS has a blockbuster matchup set to ease fans back in as El Traficio pits two Los Angeles rivals against one another in a high-stakes setting.

Marc Dos Santos’ LAFC side went into the break on the back of a 1-0 victory over Seattle, which was just as well considering the club lost four in a row prior to that. The Galaxy, meanwhile, drew 1-1 at home to Houston in its last outing back in May and is still waiting to record back-to-back wins across all competitions.

Joao Klauss and Ricard Puig are the main injury absences for the Galaxy with foot and knee complaints, respectively. Meanwhile, Igor Jesus and Lorenzo Dellavalle will sit this one out for LAFC due to knee injuries, along with Sergi Palencia who is sidelined due to a groin issue.
