As the tournament comes to a close, world leaders and notable public figures will attend the last match between Argentina and Spain. With the United States hosting the game, fans may wonder if President Donald Trump will make an appearance.
Here's what we know about President Trump's World Cup attendance plans for the final match:
Is Donald Trump going to the World Cup final?
Yes. USA TODAY has confirmed that President Trump will attend the World Cup final on Sunday, July 19, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Donald Trump will present trophy at World Cup final
President Trump will be on hand to present the trophy at the World Cup final, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in June.
The head of soccer's international governing body had said in January that President Trump would co-present the World Cup winner's trophy. In an interview on "Fox & Friends" on June 23, Infantino confirmed that the U.S. president will be part of the post-match trophy presentation at the July 19 final.
"We will be together with the president, enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner, of course," Infantino said.
