Milan confirm Gonçalo Ramos’ move: official statement
“AC Milan today announced the signing of Gonçalo Matias Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain FC,” Milan said.
“The Portuguese striker has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2031.
“Born in Olhão on 20 June 2001, Gonçalo Ramos honed his talent in the youth academies of S.C. Olhanense and S.L. Benfica, where he rose through the ranks before making his professional debut in 2019. He went on to make over 100 appearances and score 41 goals for Benfica, emerging as one of Portugal’s most exciting talents and helping the club secure the Primeira Liga title in the 2022/23 season.”
According to reports in Italy, Ramos is expected to cost up to €80m including add-ons, yet the Rossoneri, as usual, have not unveiled the transfer fee for their new signing.
“In the summer of 2023, he joined Paris Saint-Germain FC, where he has continued to compete at the highest level of European football,” the Rossoneri continued.
“During his time in Paris, he has won three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies, three Trophée des Champions, two UEFA Champions League titles, one UEFA Super Cup and one FIFA Intercontinental Cup, while scoring 45 goals in 131 appearances.
“Since making his senior international debut for Portugal in November 2022, Ramos has become a regular presence for his national team, representing his country at two FIFA World Cups and contributing to Portugal’s UEFA Nations League triumph in the 2024/25 season.
“AC Milan welcomes Gonçalo Ramos and wishes him every success with the Rossoneri.”
Ramos is currently on Portugal international duty at the 2026 World Cup and will immediately be available to new coach Ruben Amorim at the end of the competition and his summer holidays.
The Portuguese forward has netted ten goals in 26 matches with his national team.
Milan will be looking for more summer reinforcements, focusing mostly on central defence and central midfield.
The Rossoneri’s Serie A campaign will kick off with an away game at Torino on August 23.
