PSG Loan Midfielder to LaLiga Club for 2026-27 Season
PSG have loaned Gabriel Moscardo to Espanyol for the 2026-27 season without a purchase option. The Brazilian midfielder will spend the season in La Liga.
After loaning Renato Marin to CD Nacional on Monday, PSG officially announced Gabriel Moscardo's loan move to Espanyol on Wednesday.
Expected since last week, Gabriel Moscardo's (20) loan to Espanyol without a purchase option is now official. Signed by PSG from Corinthians in January 2024 for €20 million plus €2 million in bonuses, the Brazilian defensive midfielder was immediately loaned back to Corinthians for six months before spending the 2024-25 season on loan at Reims, where he played just 256 minutes due to several injuries.
Used sparingly by Luka Elsner and Samba Diawara when available, Gabriel Moscardo returned to Paris last summer and was part of PSG's FIFA Club World Cup squad without playing a single minute. He was eventually loaned to partner club Braga on July 19, 2025, where he logged 1,527 minutes during the 2025-26 season, including several appearances as a center back in a back three.
According to ESPN, Moscardo attracted interest from Getafe and Real Valladolid in Spain, as well as Monza in Italy and Cologne in Germany. However, in agreement with PSG, he ultimately chose the Catalan club. A loan move back to Brazil was also discussed at one point, but it was not part of either the player's or PSG's plans.
Espanyol finished 11th in La Liga last season and typically plays in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Moscardo will compete for playing time in midfield with Urko González de Zárate, the 25-year-old Basque defensive midfielder developed by Real Sociedad, as well as Edu Expósito (29) and Pol Lozano (26). Since May, Espanyol's sporting CEO has been Monchi, the former Sevilla sporting director who was frequently linked with PSG in previous years.
In addition to Tottenham and Juventus, with whom he has reportedly already reached a personal agreement, Randal Kolo Muani is attracting interest from two other Premier League clubs and a major German club.
Despite a disappointing 2025-26 season at Tottenham, where he scored just five goals in 41 appearances, Randal Kolo Muani remains highly regarded on the transfer market. According to L'Equipe and La Gazzetta dello Sport, the North London club is still interested in keeping him next season, although the structure of a potential deal remains unclear.
Le Parisien added that three other clubs are monitoring the situation: Crystal Palace, Aston Villa -- PSG's opponent in the UEFA Super Cup on Aug. 12 -- and a "major German club" whose identity has not been revealed, but which could be Borussia Dortmund.
