Paris Saint-Germain have no intention of entering the race for Manchester City midfielder Rodri, per Sky Sports.
However, the French club are satisfied with their current midfield options and are not planning any major additions in that area this summer.
They believe they already possess one of Europe’s strongest midfield units, with Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz and Joao Neves all playing pivotal roles in last season’s historic campaign.
The trio started PSG’s Champions League final triumph and are central to the club’s long-term plans. They also have Warren Zaire-Emery waiting in the wings.
City are equally relaxed about the situation.
Rodri has one year remaining on his current contract, and the Premier League champions are keen to tie him down to fresh terms rather than entertain offers.
The midfielder is currently sidelined after undergoing minor back surgery and is expected to miss the beginning of the new campaign as he continues his rehabilitation.
While PSG have no interest in pursuing the deal, Real Madrid are believed to be actively working on a move for Rodri after his outstanding displays at the World Cup.
Los Blancos view the experienced midfielder as a priority target as they continue their policy of recruiting players who have won the World Cup Golden Ball.
Elsewhere, PSG had hoped to sign highly rated defender Yan Diomande before he chose a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Ligue 1 champions are not prepared to be drawn into another transfer battle with the Spanish giants.
A deal for Monaco playmaker Maghnes Akliouche is progressing well.
The Champions League holders are also expected to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer window closes, with another striker on the recruitment agenda.
They must also consider what to do with Bradley Barcola, as Liverpool are pushing hard to sign him.
