Genoa are on the verge of securing Switzerland international midfielder Djibril Sow from Sevilla, claim reports in Italy and Spain.
There had been suggestions in Il Secolo XIX newspaper that Sow was a target, but now transfer pundit Matteo Moretto and his colleague Fabrizio Romano claim on their Italian language YouTube channel that a deal is practically done.
That is also confirmed by Sky Sports Deutschland reporter Florian Plettenburg and Blick in Switzerland.
Sow all set for Genoa transfer
It moved remarkably quickly for the 29-year-old, who is under contract with Sevilla until June 2029, and is expected to work out personal terms too.
He was purchased from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 at a cost of €10m.
Sow is very experienced, with 56 senior caps for Switzerland, playing in four of his nation’s six games at the 2026 World Cup.
It was a positive season with five goals and four assists in 33 LaLiga appearances for Sevilla.
His previous clubs include FC Zurich, Borussia Monchengladbach, Young Boys and Eintracht Frankfurt.
