  • Brazil international Savinho has selected his next ideal Premier League destination as he coordinates a permanent summer move away from Manchester City.
  • The 22-year-old winger is understood to be eyeing a move to join Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi, possibly rejecting alternative European pathways in the process.
  • Direct communication lines are already moving behind the scenes, with Tottenham likely to be confident of finalising a compromise after failing to land the attacker last summer.

One Premier League club have emerged as Savinho’s preferred destination beyond leaving Manchester City, according to reports in Brazil.

The Etihad Stadium club has spent recent days fighting off external distractions including the threat of taking legal action against the presidential election campaign led by Enrique Riquelme at Real Madrid which involved a supposed agreement with Erling Haaland.

Elsewhere, there remains talk in Croatia and in England of a potential summer departure for Joško Gvardiol amid interest from Los Blancos and Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, as well as a fresh feeling that a move could be on the way for academy graduate Rico Lewis.

Manchester City’s hierarchy are facing the reality of a significant post-Pep Guardiola turnover with the FIFA World Cup now pending in North America, and a formal announcement of Enzo Maresca becoming the club’s new manager in the coming days.

What is the latest on Savinho’s Manchester City exit?

Now, according to ESPN’s Sports Center, Savinho is determined to remain in English football beyond leaving Manchester City and, perhaps more specifically, wants to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

It is explained that official contacts between the relevant parties have already started and the North London club are currently working towards sending their first official offer to City in the coming days.

The next steps in Savinho’s proposed Tottenham move

Tottenham’s recruitment team attempted a blockbuster £70 million swoop 12 months ago, but the deal was blocked by key figures within Manchester City’s hierarchy, believed to include Chief Executive Officer, Ferran Soriano.

Marquee playmaker Xavi Simons, who completed a switch to North London last August, sparked social media talk only this week by sharing nostalgic image of his partnership with Savinho during their shared developmental spell at Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.

If talks and paperwork progress smoothly, Savinho could yet skip Manchester City’s pre-season in July, finalising his relocation to the capital well before the start of the 2026/27 Premier League campaign.
