Spain have been one of international football's most successful nations for decades, making "La Marcha Real" one of the sport's most recognisable national anthems.
From Iker Casillas and Xavi to Rodri and Lamine Yamal, generations of Spanish stars have stood proudly for the anthem before some of football's biggest matches.
Unlike most national anthems, however, "La Marcha Real" has no official lyrics. The Sporting News explains why, along with the anthem's history and significance.

Spain national anthem lyrics in English
Unlike most national anthems, "La Marcha Real" has no official lyrics, meaning there is no English translation of words sung before Spain matches.
The anthem is instead performed as an instrumental, with players and supporters standing for the music rather than singing official lyrics.
What is Spain's national anthem about?
"La Marcha Real" originated in the 18th century as a military march and is one of the oldest national anthems still in use today.
Although it has no official lyrics, several attempts have been made to introduce words over the years. None have gained enough public or political support to be formally adopted, partly because of Spain's diverse languages, cultures and political views.
As a result, "La Marcha Real" is performed solely as an instrumental at state occasions and international sporting events, with Spain's players and supporters standing for the music rather than singing.
Today, the anthem remains a symbol of Spain's national identity and is played before the country's international soccer matches, including the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship.
