Sunderland have completed the signing of Jamaican international forward Atlanta Primus on a free transfer.
The Lady Black Cats announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.
The 29-year-old joins Sunderland after leaving former club Southampton earlier this summer.
Primus has a wealth of experience at Barclays WSL2 level. She has spent the last six years playing at that level of football in spells with London City Lionesses, Southampton and Charlton Athletic. Primus played in every Barclays WSL2 fixture for Southampton last season, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
On the international stage, Primus has been capped by Jamaica on 23 occasions in which she has scored one goal. She represented The Reggae Girlz at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023.
After joining Sunderland, Primus said “I am super-excited to be here because it has been a long time coming. I can’t wait to be out on the pitch with the girls and I am looking forward to the season.
“It is a great time to be a part of this club and the Bay Collective backing will help take us to new levels, so I am looking forward to what the future holds.”
Primus is Sunderland’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window.
