The winning bid ran more than 10 times Christie’s pre-sale estimate of $2,000 to $4,000, and SKYLRK matched it in full, pushing the total tied to the sneakers past $52,000.
The pair is the “Latte” colorway of Bieber’s SKYLRK Matter Daddy low-tops, a beige tone with light pink accents that had never been released. He debuted them during an acoustic take on “Everything Hallelujah” at MetLife Stadium on July 19, then donated the worn shoes after the show.
They sold through “One Goal: An Auction to Benefit the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund,” a 27-lot Christie’s online sale that ran July 22 to 29 and went 100% sold for $652,630, with bidders from 24 countries. The match ball and BTS Jimin’s performance shirt each pulled $110,000, and a Messi-signed Argentina jersey gifted to Shakira went for $66,000.
All proceeds support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a $100 million effort to expand access to education and football for children worldwide.
