The 2026 World Cup was the first to feature 48 national teams, jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The final took place on July 19 at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford. Before a crowd of approximately 80,000 people, Spain defeated Argentina 1–0 in extra time (with a goal by Ferran Torres in the 106th minute) to claim their second world title.
The result put an end to Argentina’s bid for back-to-back World Cup titles and pitted two distinct eras against each other. Lionel Messi, at 39, was competing in his sixth World Cup. Lamine Yamal had turned 19 just six days before the final. One carries over two decades of sporting history, while the other represents a future beginning to take shape.
FIFA and the entertainment industry consciously amplified the event’s megalomaniacal nature. The match featured the first-ever halftime show at a World Cup final, starring Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Justin Bieber, and other slaves to the industry. The industry’s High Priestess even opened her performance alongside former Brazilian players Ronaldo and Ronaldinho.
So, even before the ball started rolling, the final was already more than just soccer. It was a platform to broadcast symbols, industry pawns, and agendas to a potential audience of billions. It was on this stage that Messi and Yamal stepped out as opponents in the World Cup final.
While most people watched the match in the usual way, some observers on the Internet noticed certain suspicious subliminal messages surrounding the event. After all, what are the odds of Messi facing, in a World Cup final, the baby he had bathed nineteen years earlier?
In December 2007, when Messi was still a promising 20-year-old player for Barcelona, photographer Joan Monfort positioned him in front of a blue bathtub. Inside it was a five-month-old baby. The scene was part of a charity calendar that brought together a young player, a child, and water.
The photo session was neither staged nor digitally created. At the time, the FC Barcelona Foundation, the Catalan newspaper Sport, and UNICEF were preparing a charity calendar for 2008. Club players were photographed with children from local families. Yamal’s mother entered a raffle held among families in Mataró and was selected. Messi was assigned to pose with the baby. Monfort recounts that the player, shy and inexperienced, initially did not know how to act around the bathtub.
As fate would have it, the photo featured for January 2008 showed a young Leo Messi—looking a bit shy—helping to bathe the baby alongside the infant’s mother.
The photographer, Joan Monfort, fondly recalls how the baby—now a 16-year-old Barcelona player—won Messi over with his big smile and charming manner. Little did they know at the time that they were in the presence of two future football superstars!

The photograph remained virtually forgotten for years. Monfort only thought about it again when Yamal’s father posted one of the images during Euro 2024. The family had entered the draw like so many others, and the meeting with Messi came about thanks to the organization of the photo shoot. The photographer even described the reunion as something better than a movie script.
I have never been a believer or thought that anything was destined to occur, but I am beginning to have my doubts. This is beyond all reasonable explanations. This has exploded all over the world, and the fact that the final is in the U.S. has given it the extra push, and now this has culminated with the final between Messi and Yamal. Visually, the photograph contains elements ideal for symbolic analysis. The red background draws the eye and lends the composition an almost theatrical quality. The blue bathtub occupies the lower center, while Messi’s light-colored uniform creates a protective presence around the child.
Indeed, bathing features in countless cultures as a rite of passage. In Christianity, baptism represents the cleansing of sins, death to one’s former life, and spiritual rebirth.
Furthermore, the photo of Messi with Yamal appeared on the calendar’s January page. The month of January derives from Ianuarius, associated with Janus, the Roman deity of gateways, beginnings, and transitions.
Whether or not you believe in numerology, the number 19 played a central role in the context of the World Cup final.
Messi wore the number 19 jersey early in his World Cup journey, while Yamal wore the same number for Spain. The famous bathtub photo marked its 19th anniversary in 2026, and Yamal reached the final at 19 years of age. Furthermore, the final match took place on July 19.
In July 2024, following Yamal’s Euro Cup triumph and Messi winning another continental title with Argentina, Adidas launched “The GOAT and the Kid” campaign. The image featured an adult goat and a kid standing on a podium-like base marked with the numbers 10 and 19. The ad was reportedly released to celebrate the two stars linked to Barcelona.
Although the acronym GOAT stands for Greatest of All Time, there have been enough actual goats throughout Messi’s career to serve as a potent reminder that the term also alludes to Satan. This coincidence provides advertisers with an immediate visual device.
Depending on the tradition, the goat appears in imagery associated with witchcraft and in occult representations, such as Baphomet.
Freemasonry employs this same goat symbol. In initiation manuals, the candidate is described as an unformed initiate, stripped of his former identity, purified, and prepared to receive a new one, through the figure of the goat.
Furthermore, the Football Association was founded on October 26, 1863, at the Freemasons’ Tavern in London. The association itself records this location in its official history.

Ebenezer Morley, a London solicitor who formed Barnes FC in 1862, could be called the ‘father’ of The Association. He wasn’t a public school man but old boys from several public schools joined his club and there were ‘feverish’ disputes about the way the game should be played.
Morley wrote to Bell’s Life, a popular newspaper, suggesting that football should have a set of rules in the same way that the MCC had them for cricket. Fans wear the same colors, chant in unison, and react to the same event in fractions of a second. This synchronization produces real psychological effects. The esoteric concept of egregore refers precisely to the phenomenon where multiple people focus their attention on a single thing.
In this sense, the World Cup final served as a demonstration of power by the hidden elite, who pride themselves on transforming collective emotion into viewership, reputation, and data. Furthermore, the thematic parallel between the Messi-Yamal narrative and the movie HIM (read the VC article about this film here) is symbolic.
The stories of Messi and Yamal parallel Cam’s. Both were integrated into a sports system at a very young age. Later, they found themselves surrounded by advisors, sponsors, contracts, campaigns, and media coverage. At the same time, their skills were recognized and transformed into symbolic icons within the media landscape.
In the film, the campaign, the numbers, and the outcome are all part of a long ritual of passing the torch from Isaiah to Cam. Did the same happen in real life?
There is no evidence that the Spanish victory was scripted or that Yamal was handpicked in his childhood. The 2007 draw, the numerology of the final’s date, and the symbolism of the campaigns may well be mere coincidences. On the other hand, it is naive to ignore how the occult elite carries out its mega-rituals through apparent coincidences. The media itself (including UNICEF) made a point of resurfacing the photo of Messi with Yamal and images of the GOAT, while the final was promoted as a meeting between “past and future”. When analyzed together, these coincidences intertwine with quite evident Masonic symbolism.
This is, perhaps, the most sophisticated form of a passing of the torch ritual. It is no longer necessary to manufacture every event. Instead, one can capitalize on what synchronicity offers, discard what is useless, and present the result as destiny. After initiating his successor, Messi lost to Yamal in Argentina’s first grueling match, a national team constantly accused of receiving help from FIFA. Like the music industry, football has inherited certain tools from religion, including processions, anthems, and color-coding. All of this creates a setting highly favorable to the rituals of the occult elite. The difference is that, in football, the masses believe everything is spontaneous.
