Athens soccer fans will have a chance to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final together at a free community watch party on Sunday, July 19, at Akins Ford Arena in downtown Athens.
The event begins at 2 p.m. at the arena, located at 155 Hickory St. behind the Classic Center.
Hosted as a family-friendly celebration of the world’s biggest soccer match, the watch party will feature the World Cup championship game broadcast live on the arena's big screen.
Organizers are billing it as the largest World Cup watch party in Athens, with concessions, giveaways and interactive fan experiences available throughout the event.
This year’s final will feature defending champion Argentina against European champion Spain. Argentina earned its place in the title match by defeating England, and Spain advanced after eliminating France. The championship will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Admission to the watch party is free, but organizers encourage attendees to reserve general admission tickets in advance at classiccenter.com/events/detail/fifa-world-cup-watch-party. Street parking in downtown Athens is free on Sunday, but rates for the Classic Center's parking deck range from $15 to $20.
