How did the Denver song become THE song of the 2026 World Cup? Great question. Multiple stories point out that FIFA asked the nations who participated in the tournament for songs that could be played after wins. CBS Sports says U.S. Soccer asked players and others, who came up with Denver's song, Sweet Caroline and Livin' on a Prayer.

But as Yahoo reports, FIFA World Cup chief strategy officer Amy Hopfinger also picked it after seeing how Oasis' Wonderwall landed with England fans.
