With the World Cup in the U.S., Canada and Mexico spread out over such a wide geographic area, teams have looked to get strategic with their base camp selection.
The result has been bringing a World Cup presence to some of the more unexpected locations throughout the U.S. And this was all by choice of the respective teams.
Last year, FIFA finalized a list of 62 approved base camps, giving teams the choice of facilities to call home for the tournament. There were the expected luxury hotels in major cities and resorts on beaches. But many teams instead opted for high school or college facilities in towns and small cities.
Fans have already started making jokes about the Spain national team selecting Chattanooga, Tennessee, as its World Cup base camp. But Spain wasn't alone in prioritizing privacy over the potential distractions of a major city.
Here's a look at where the 48 teams will train during the 2026 World Cup.
