Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow told reporters June 17 at his post-minicamp news conference that he's watched the NBA Finals and some of the FIFA World Cup.
Burrow said he didn't see Lionel Messi's hat trick June 16 for Argentina in its entirety, though.
"I watched the World Cup. It's certainly exciting," Burrow said. "I watched the first goal and then I fell asleep. It got a little too late for me."
Burrow said soccer was the first sport he ever played, in first or second grade.
"I switched quickly to baseball," Burrow said.
What position did Burrow play?
"I don't think there were positions back then," Burrow joked.
Burrow said he watched the New York Knicks win the NBA title against the San Antonio Spurs.
"Any time you get a chance to watch somebody win a championship, that's an exciting thing," Burrow said. "That's where we all want to be. That's what we all want to experience. And many of us have. Once you have, you'll do anything to get back there."
Will Burrow watch teammate Joe Flacco on Netflix's "Quarterback?"
"I don't think so," Burrow joked.
Burrow confirmed that he and Dexter Lawrence have been hanging out quite a bit since the Bengals acquired the defensive tackle.
"Me and Dex have been kicking it a lot," Burrow said. "Probably (spending time with defensive teammates) more so than I have in the past. It's helped that we've brought some veteran guys in here that can help me do that. Dex has been amazing getting guys together, trying to build that off-the-field relationship that you need."
What do Burrow and Lawrence do together?
"Whatever," Burrow said. "Nothing specifically. Usually watch whatever game is on."
